A Poem and a Sound Blessing

Sometimes Your Soul Sings

Sometimes Your Soul Sings 
 
the pen in my hand shakes
and the clicking of my fingers on the keyboard hesitate

sometimes my heart soars
though these times will never be "some" times
as if we have the luxury to be this laissez-faire

these times.. they are so alive
so alive they exist OUT of time
in a vast and personal embrace
of giddy relief and elevated inbreaths
that bring so much lightness and joy

the connectedness that pulls us towards
the center of where we are falling

find me here

remember our hearts beating?
human and visceral?
this echo will live on 
and we will LOVE our lives with so much wide, expansive openness
I promise

our feet floating ever higher off the ground
our bodies sinking heavy into mama's arms
living and dancing in songs full of beauty and transformation 
while all around us droning sounds of rambling fade into a slur of cursing
spinning around staring at screens until the ground below swallows us whole
worn from the circling of our feet and the weight of our worry

this "ordinary" that we've been living
is void of living

these time were never just "some" times
these times exist always

with our backs to the wind we can soar
-we can!
my loves we are just beginning
to learn to risk that lift 
to ride on the wind that she provides for us 
(with no guarantee that we'll ever return)

do you want to? return?
maybe you forgot something
forgetting again and again 
until you remember

then when you're ready
say goodbye

and sometimes? when my heart soars...
I am so alive!
and sometimes? 
I tremble with trepidation

to be here singing 
sighing and witnessing 
until I am no longer recognizable to you
as anything but your own true soul singing
