Pack Your Bag: A Guided Meditation Journey to Transform Shock, Angst and Despair by Lana Maree
(You will need an undisturbed place to listen to this meditation journey)
Find a time and space where you will be undisturbed. Ground yourself with some deep belly breathing. Counting your in breath 1, 2, 3, 4…and your out breath 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6…Breathe all of that good, restorative and healing Mama Gaia energy up into your root chakra and let it ground you into the precious Earth. Repeat this breathing and visualization until you feel grounded.
Now, imagine you are packing all of your worries, anxiety, anger, shock and disruption up into a bag. What does your bag look like? Is it big or small? What is it made out of? Linen? Cotton? Canvas? Tie it up tightly. Is there something you want to say to your bag of angst and despair? Feel free to call it something else, but you must own it as your own.
Remember it is a part of you. It’s a part of you that is no longer serving you. You could offer it thanks. You could contemplate how it did help you once. Spend some time being present with your bag. Breathe…let feelings come if they will. Write about them, draw, paint or scream (in a safe place) stomp, shake your body all over, whatever feels right to you. Or maybe you are just ready to let it go now. Call on your ancient Mother. Call on Gaia, Mary, Quan Yin, Isis, Inanna, Pachamama, Ma…She goes by many names or simply Great Spirit, Creator…
When you are ready to give her your bag, release it. She is ready to take your bag because the burden is too big for you now. She can take it! She will eat your tiny empire of angst and despair! Leave it up to Her to eat any empire that doesn’t serve Life and Love and the nurturing and support of others. Because that is what she does.
You can throw your bag into a volcano now, or into the ocean, or out into space. OR you can watch HER EAT IT IN FRONT OF YOU and watch your bag of angst and despair turn into a bright and beautiful star THAT EMANATES FROM HER HEART TO YOURS. Receive your staff as She hands this powerful and beautiful gift to you.
This is your staff of light now. It was a gift all along, just waiting to be transformed. Treat it with reverence and know that the only power is Love. Use it to bring harmony and peace, justice and joy into your heart and into the world. But remember, it always comes from within. Your staff will bring you back to your heart every time.
Because right now, right here, Love is Everywhere!
